You really touched my heart”, those are the words a fan used to describe the feeling of Jae’s performance. When Jae Mazor opens his mouth to sing, he has the gift to make people feel good and touch them emotionally.

One of Jae’s favorite quote “Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life” – by Berthold Auerbach. Jae wants to be able to take people out of their ordinary life and give them hope and happiness.

Jae Mazor is a singer/songwriter from Miami, Florida. Although most of Jae Mazor’s songs are R&B & FreeStyle Music, Jae has the ability to do many more genres, such as Pop,  Electronic and etc.

Due to this special ability, it’s very tough to categorize Jae on just one genre.  What really sets Jae apart from others is his sound, he has that unique sound that you cant compare. And of course his energy, emotions, and feeling he puts into all of his work.

On August 29, 1989, Jae Mazor was born to Mirelle Almazor.  Mirelle Almazor gave birth to five children, four boys, and one girl. Jae is the middle child out of the five. His siblings are his biggest supporters and believers and also his biggest critics when it comes to music.

Jae was born in a family that loves music most of his siblings are musicians and his mother was a singer herself.  Music was something that Mirelle brought to her children, whether it was her own records that she made to other Haitian music, she made sure that they listened to those records.

As a child, Jae knew that he wanted to do something with music. As he grew he realized that he wanted to be a singer.  Some of his influences to sing came from Boys II Men, Bryan McKnight, Ray Charles and most importantly his mother.

When did you first discover your love for music?

Growing up my parents were musicians, my father was a singer and guitar player also my mother was a singer-songwriter both natives from Haiti, Port-Au- Prince. I came across a home video of both parents and I think that’s the happiest I’ve ever seen my parents.

I could remember seeing them when they were in the recording studio and seeing that happiness triggered something in my mind on how powerful music can really impact someone’s life and I would like to continue the same path my parents have started.

What made you first realize you wanted to pursue a career in music?

In the process of my parents making music, I came across many artists such as Boys 11 Men, Brian McKnight, Dru hill and 112, Ray Charles and etc. Growing up I was always trying to mirror there exact same notes and adlibs throughout the song.

Over time I received positive feedback from many individuals on my vocal abilities and that’s when I decided this could be my career choice and to potentially affect people in a positive way.

When did you know that you were going to make music a career?

I realized  I was going to make it a career when I recorded a song with my older sibling Entitled “Feeling Me” back in 2008 and saw the reaction of the people in my home town of Miami, fl and that was a sign for me that I got what it takes to take it to the next level.

To what do you accredit your sense of style?

Being from Miami our top has to Match the kicks lol and I try to give a style of an urban, luxury, yet a classy look. When I walk on stage my appearance makes people assume instantly that I am a rapper, but when I start performing I give them the complete opposite image when I start to sing.

Would you prefer to be independent or signed to a major?

I would prefer to remain independent and partner with a major label instead of signing to a major label. At least as an artist, I can have my creative control and release content in a timely manner that would better suit me as an artist.

What musical influences did you listen to growing up that helped to mold you into the artist you are today?

Growing up these are the artist that made a major impact and motivated me to work on my craft. Foremost my Parents, Boys ll Men, Brian Mcknight, Dru hill,  112, Ray Charles, Gerald Levert and etc.

I listen to this particular artist faithfully because listening to their music as they express their words inspired me, as I understand where they’re coming from and what they have experienced. I want that same effect and to impact my listeners the same way.

What do you think your “biggest break” or “greatest opportunity” has been so far in your musical career?

My biggest opportunity was when I was flown out to Osaka, Japan to put on a concert at one of the biggest clubs in the city Picadilly with DJ Lead of Hot 97. It was an experience of a lifetime and a big culture shock but very well worth it.

What impression would you like listeners to be left with after hearing your music? what will people be able to say about you as an artist?

When listening to my music, My Listeners will instantly be captivated by my strong Soulful vocal abilities and the emotions I put behind every word I deliver. I will leave every person with positive energy and the desire to continue listening to my music for years to come.

Do you have other interests or talents you would like to share with us? How do you like to enjoy your relaxation time away from the music?

Other than Music I am a  Very Good Cook and enjoy spending time with my family, and traveling seeing new places, also I’m a Netflix type of guy. When it comes to relaxation my daughter is my inspiration and my escape we have the most interesting conversation only a father would understand lol she keeps me going.

What image do you think your music conveys and why did you choose this type of image for your music?

My Music strikes every emotion and I make sure to put out content that people can relate to. My Music speaks on everyday life experiences, from Love, HeartBreak, infatuation, romance and much much more.

I choose this type of image for my music because there way too much unfortunate situation going on in this world and I want my music to be an escape for my fans,  to bring them to a positive state of mind.

What projects do you have in the making currently and what are your plans for the near future?

Currently, I’m in the process of releasing my new single  “Born 2 Luv” set for  February 7, 2020. it’s Freestyle music with a touch of RnB style of Delivery. While getting ready for this release I’ve been working on my RnB Project as well an EP entitled ‘VIBEZ” which will be released Fall of 2020.

In addition, looking forward to the future, I plan on getting into Afrobeat, EDM, House music, K-Pop, reggaeton & more, I’m looking to take things on a more international level as a Singer/ Song-Writer.
