Interview with upcoming artist SHAMAR

How did you come by your stage name?

Well since people call me by my real name Shamar I decided to stretch it into SHAMAR with all caps. The name will become important over time so I’m sticking with it till it something legendary happens to it.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I discovered my love for music and writing songs when my people would listen in on my studio sessions then ask me if I could put that certain song on CD so they can listen to it in their car. That was a big support for me because I was keeping the music to myself so to see that people wanted to cruise in the city while it playing in their car made me fell in love with my craft.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

To be honest no one. I have my own natural style when it comes to music. I don’t copycat other artist style, music lyrics, nor their lingo. I believe in being true to your self in creating your own taste of music.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

Well based on my new single/upcoming project (Sleep In Peace Nalique) The song was something heartfelt but emotional like. It’s deep to me because that was a special family member to me who was very motivational when it came to becoming a better person & artist. She’s an inspiration to me and my music.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My greatest challenges are in maintaining a professional role. I say this because I tend to be anxious when it comes to the music business so every day I try to teach myself that patience is the key. Now my greatest attributes would be my consistency and dedication. I really put in full time and focus on my work in perfecting my craft.
