GRY Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage / brand name?

My surname is Grey so GRY is a shortened version 😉

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I fell in love with music after I started organizing warehouse parties in London. I was immediately drawn to the magical effect it had on bringing different people together in such a diverse city. As I was booking DJs and watching them perform, I was super inspired to start my own project.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Definitely to the rave scene in London as I was growing up. I’d listen to a lot of UK House, garage, footwork, jungle & old-school dubstep. I’m very open-minded when it comes to genres and I believe that reflects in my productions.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I wanted to experiment with the future house (which is a fusion of deep house and garage) and gave it my own twist with exotic flute & slap house sounds.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

Trying to do too much at once is my biggest weakness, but it also is my greatest attribute. Focus is important.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I become the best version of myself as every day passes.

What are your plans for the near future?

Currently working on a follow-up release to my debut and keeping the momentum going.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Big shout out to DHARMA for supporting my first release. Thomas Gold & NEVVE for collaborating with me and my whole team for bringing this together.
