How did you come by your stage name?

My stage used to be Baby Boo when I was 7. One day, I decided to look up my name on google (foolishly thinking I would show up) and the only thing that showed up was a bunch of baboon butts. Me being a child, I thought people were gonna staff thinking I’m a baboon butt, so I decided to change my name to my real name Justis. The Bratt comes from my love for my Bratz dolls at the time. I admired how there was a doll in every race, color, and style. I wanted to encompass me as an artist. I want to be somebody that EVERYONE can relate to and connect with.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

The passion for music found me when I was 7 years old. At first, it was an outlet for me to release all of my anger from being bullied. But soon after, performance art, music, and entertainment ended up becoming the only avenue I wanted to follow.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

My sense of style is the cultivation of what I believe visually is a superstar. I spent many years thinking of what makes a superstar. It’s in their stage presence, their demeanor, and, most importantly, their image. A star is ALWAYS shining. So I put that concept into my sense of style and it’s why I’m always wearing some form of outrageous outfit to stand out.

On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?

I didn’t really come up with the concept on the album in working on, it more so came to me. I knew I wanted to create an album that I could 10 years from now look back and still be proud of, and that was a part of how the idea came to me.
