Exclusive Interview with Mr. Saturday
How did you come by your stage / brand name?
I’ve had many names throughout the years and one day I woke up and boom. Mr. Saturday came to mind, was born on a Saturday so I claim my day lol
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I discovered my love for music during my childhood years attending church. but when I heard LL Cool J I knew it was for me. I said to myself that’s what I want to do forever.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I accredit artists like EPMD, LL Cool J, Heavy D, Fat Boys, Big Daddy Kane, etc… I got love for tons of artists old and new.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
I really don’t go into writing a song with a concept. I listen to beats and whichever one talks to me I go with it, if I hear it and a hook or chorus comes straight to me that’s the one. By the way, New Single Out Now called ‘Side Nigga’ Mr. Saturday Ft. Lil Bae On All Digital Platforms.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Some challenges, Just staying up with the culture and the sound of today’s music. Some of my greatest attributes are writing good verses and hooks. Structure and recording the vocals with passion and energy.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Of course, I think I’m the best lol and anyone who thinks they aren’t are in the wrong business.
What are your plans for the near future?
To stay grinding and continue to put out quality music. Continue the road to success.
