How did you come by your stage name?

My friends have always called me Lil Cory. My English name is Cory Daniel Edwards but my Indian name is White Owl.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I knew at a young age at the Echota Cherokee Pow Wows I would sample live flutes into rap beats on a laptop at home. I started making rat beats and then starting writing songs.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Growing up I listen to artists like mystical, master p, UGK, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, G-Unit, 504 Boyz, and Lil Wayne. I also grew up listening to Southern Rock like Lynyrd Skynyrd and industrial rock legend Celldweller.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I was in Los Angeles working with multiplatinum Grammy award-winning producer Jared Lee Gosselin and filming Star Trek as well as Shameless season 11.

The music on Star Trek reminded me of the type of music I used to produce when I was a teenager. So I contacted Celldweller to get help for some samples on the upcoming album.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My greatest attribute is my ambition. My greatest challenge is balancing my career and home life. It’s hard to be at home when I’m always on the road doing shows.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I wouldn’t say the best but in my opinion, I could probably smoke a lot of these rappers out here.

What are your plans for the near future?

Gonna be droppin’ a new album with KE ON THE TRACK, Jared Lee Gosselin, Purebred Pro, Cashmoney AP, and a few other artists.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
