Interview with Texas Based Artist Platinum b LOvE

Charles Love, best known as Platinum b LOvE is a Texas artist with his own unique sound that still incorporates some of that Texas Swang. LOvE has been making music for over 7 years with several of his tracks reaching national attention. Many of his songs offer more of a positive vibe which is fitting as he’s overcome a lot of adversity in his life.

LOvE has lived in different parts of Texas and even in the Virgin Islands. It’s no surprise his music has that authentic Texas sound with the screwed voice in many of his songs. You can also hear hints of Caribbean/Island sounds in his music. Particularly in his song “Flex Remix” that samples the classic hit by Max Cobra, “Flex”. Interestingly, this track offer both Screwed and Caribbean vibes, which make for a smooth, dope sound.

One of Platinum’s singles with the wide recognition is “I Don’t Know Em” (2017) with over 22,000 plays on YouTube, and over 30,000 plays on SoundCloud. Featuring another classic sample from Lil Kim’s Crush On You, the song is an ode to the people that don’t believe in you, and an anthem for anyone who’s ever been slept on.
