Hot Apollo, the electrifying Canadian punk rock band known for their genre-defying sound and fearless style, returns this summer with a bold new single, “We’re Hot Apollo,” dropping July 4, 2025. The track is the first release from their highly anticipated album Against The Odds, Because We’re Gods, which arrives December 26 via SelfMadeRecords and digital distributor Earache Records EDD.
The release marks a defining moment for the group, who have built a reputation on theatrical intensity and glam-infused punk anthems.
A Punk Rock Anthem of Identity
Lead vocalist and lyricist Jaymes Buckman describes “We’re Hot Apollo” as the band’s superhero theme song—an introduction to both their ethos and their sound. “This is our handshake to the world,” he explains. “People think I’m Hot Apollo all the time. I get called that on the street several times a week. So this track clears that up—it’s not just me, it’s all of us. The fans are part of it too. We’re all Hot Apollo.”

About the Album: Against The Odds, Because We’re Gods
The upcoming album title is as audacious as the band itself. According to Buckman, it speaks to both confidence and adversity. “I’ve always known we’re cosmically destined to do this. But that doesn’t make the industry any easier,” he says. “It’s about chasing beauty—even if it costs you everything.”
Against The Odds, Because We’re Gods marks the group’s first label-supported release. Past projects were fully independent, and adjusting to structured production schedules has been a challenge. “I was directing one of our videos and laying out logistics when a friend told me I sounded like I was prepping for a school project,” Buckman laughs.
Despite the pressure, the album rollout is meticulously planned:

Critics have likened Hot Apollo to Iggy Pop, Talking Heads, The Cure, and The B-52s, but Buckman offers a simpler definition: “I call it Tempest Rock. It’s loud like thunder, shiny like lightning. At its core, it’s the best party you’ve ever been to—not one with soft invitations, but one that starts with an excited shout.”
Hot Apollo’s signature sound and stage presence continue to attract a dedicated cult following. With each release, the band inches closer to mainstream recognition—without ever compromising their underground spirit.
From DIY to Global Distribution
Hot Apollo’s rise has been a slow burn through the independent circuit. Their earlier releases—including Laser Days(2018), Baby Lord (2022), and Tempest Rock (2023)—earned underground acclaim and positioned the band as one of Canada’s best-kept secrets in alternative and punk rock.
Their debut album Invented Music (2022) hinted at bigger ambitions, and now Against The Odds, Because We’re Godsdelivers on that promise, combining raw energy with sharp production and lyrical depth.
