Good God, Interview With Muzique Magazine
Good God, Interview With Muzique Magazine
How did you come by your stage/brand name?
I don’t even know I first came up with my stage name honestly. It just came naturally and was kinda catchy and I stuck with it because it gives me a sense of pride while also reminding me to be humble. Often it reminds me that there’s a bigger picture in the world. 2316 Tha Company was started by my biggest inspiration and the most real person I ever knew; Ryan Dixon who passed away and I’m continuing his legacy.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I’ve always loved music since a child even before I decided to make it myself. It’s just something that keeps on giving and never gets old. I discovered I actually had a real talent for it and I never looked back and kept working on getting better every year. I was dead set on music once I got the reactions from my friends and other people I knew who never heard me on a song I knew then I had the potential to do something big.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I accredit my style to artists I grew up listening to like 2pac, KiD CuDi, Eminem, Wale, and a lot of other artists I love. Ryan and a lot of other people I’ve met also inspire the way I create music so the list goes on and on. It’s so many good artists and great music it’s hard to even think of them all honestly.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
My current project’s concept was just to rap the way I wanted to throughout the whole album. I don’t know if that’s really a concept but that’s what I did and I liked it I had a great time making this so I hope my listeners have fun too and they like the outcome.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
My greatest challenge is living through everyday life. It’s hard being a black man in general. But that’s another topic for another day. I think my greatest attribute to my work ethic is my desire to make every song perfect or as perfect as I can get it to be. I hate leaving songs empty-handed or feeling like I could’ve done something more or made something better.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I’m definitely the best at the style of music I make that’s a no-brainer. Nobody could imitate the emotions and the vibe I put into my music it’s not possible.
What are your plans for the near future?
I have plans to drop another album this year if everything goes well. I’ll also be releasing singles all year too and I’m coming with the best of the best.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I’d like to thank Muzique Magazine for making this possible and all the people who support and listen to my music are on the top of the thanking list as well.
How can fans find you?
I’m on Instagram a lot promoting and networking so fans can keep up with me there if they’re wondering.
What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?
My only suggestions are to stay humble, stay focused, and never give up and be consistent if you want to have results.
