Ainsley Ross talks about her sense of style, love for her craft and more

How did you come by your stage brand name?

I use my birth name Ainsley Ross, it is of Scottish descent and means My Own Meadow. However, I have an amazing new brand I will be launching later this year you will have to stay tuned to learn more about the epic new brand/label!

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I discovered a love for my craft when I was 9 years old. I would always write lyrics before I even realized they were lyrics. It wasn’t until I turned 12 that I realized the need for more positive songwriters, lyrics, and performers in our communities.

The first performance I had (that wasn’t a showcase) was at The Boys and Girls Club and I will never forget that feeling. The fans were so excited that someone would take the time to come perform a concert for them, and the energy in the room was AMAZING! To see their smiles, them dancing and rapping along with a positive message was epic. That single moment fueled me to push ahead and pursue a career.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Believe it or not… it’s my Mom! She always inspired me to embrace and respect my body while being my own trendsetter.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

My Current Song-

“We Are 1” has a powerful and beautiful message. There is a need in the world for a song that unites instead of divides people like the song “We Are The World” has made us all feel for years.

There is so much hate in our world, derived from; political views, religion, ethnicity, and personal agendas. As I was writing this song it was very clear to me that different artists stylistically from different cultures come together as 1 to deliver a powerful message of Unity.

Future Project –

#Girl was inspired by the reality of today’s strong Social Media presence and the impact it has on today’s society. It’s all about the daily grind of using hashtags and social media to impact others. There is a powerful message about Never Giving Up, chasing your dreams and keeping the positive influencer going. #Girl, #nevergiveup

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My greatest challenge by far is that I am a perfectionist. However, as a performer, influencer, and artist my biggest goal is being authentic and 100 percent real with my followers, fans, and friends. I am very much human and try not to allow my perfectionism to get in the way of my authenticity.

Therefore, I am putting myself out there, vulnerability and all, in an attempt to keep me and my perfectionism balanced. My fans and followers are amazing. It also shows them that nobody is perfect 🙂 My greatest attribute is my honesty strength and vulnerability.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

What I can say about this question is that I am always learning. If we are doing things the right way, we should always be teachable and reachable. I never strive to be the best, but I do strive daily to do and give my absolute best. So, in short, No, I don’t believe I am the best…but I strive to be the best that I can be.

What are your plans for the near future?

I am launching a new brand/product line this year and can’t wait to share it with y’all!!!! New music is definitely on the horizon. Continuing the “We Are 1” Movement, remaining an Influencer while advocating for positivity. New productions will be filmed and others to be released this year. Attaining my college degree in Occupational Therapy while always most importantly continuing to Inspire, Uplift and Encourage.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

I would say to know your worth, be strong in your morals and don’t forget to schedule some you time to speak love and positivity over yourself and your life. Know that it is okay to have a dream and set goals when you are young and to allow yourself you change them as you grow and navigate through life.
