JAELYN talks about her latest album “HOURS”, sense of style and more

20yo Hip-Hop/R&B artist, Jaelyn, a Coachella Valley native has been turning heads throughout the desert with her unique sound and style. Her songs are based on personal experiences that target audiences that resonate with her story.

Her music tells a story about the hardships to the rise of overcoming obstacles that she has encountered throughout her journey. With 2 projects and multiple singles under her belt, she has created an intimate fan base that keeps everyone asking for more.

How did you come by your stage name?

I actually just mashed my first name which is Jasmine and last name which is Linares together to create Jaelyn.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I’ve always been into poetry and writing my thoughts down growing up then freshman year of high school I tore my ACL&MCL playing basketball which led me into putting all my poetry I’ve written down over melodies which inspired me to pursue music.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Teyana Taylor for sure plays a big part when it comes down to my sense of style along with Aaliyah and Rihanna. They all have very unique individual styles that inspire me to put pieces together that regularly wouldn’t be a match.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

On my latest album “HOURS” I really targeted life experiences that the audience can relate to or have maybe come across themselves. I wanted to give my listeners something different on every song of the album but have it remain it’s intimacy.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My main challenge I feel is actually my living situation of my family not really understanding my vision on chasing music as a career other than that just balancing my younger years while remaining focused on projects. My greatest attribute would probably have to be how easily I can adapt to my environment and task at hand.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Personally I think I am but always looking for ways to improve. I dedicate and sacrifice about 80% of my time into what I do to become the best I can.

What are your plans for the near future?

I wanna continue to please my audience and keep putting out music for them to resonate too. My plans for the near future are definitely collaborating with an artist I look up too and performing on stages I used to dream of.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Big shoutout to “The Goons” my day ones. I Would love to thank “KidCapone” and “Mike Lavish”. My manager “Jon Estebane” and everyone who supports my music.
