J.Cash The King talks about his craft, sense of style, and much more

How did you come by your stage name?

My full name is Johnathan Cash so all of my life friends or family members have called me J.Cash. Once I got older I was a T.I fan and he used to call himself King of The South. Around that time I was taking music more seriously and I wanted to separate myself from everyone else coming up so I Jus added the King to J.Cash and here we are.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I used to freestyle in the 5th grade so I started out young. By the time I had reached high school I was rapping for the local radio station live. After that, I took music more seriously.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I credit several artists from 2pac to DSR which was a huge group in Dallas who had made it big. But I studied Eminem’s wordplay and Lil Wayne’s delivery. Also, TI had a dope flow to me and I wanted to embody everything I liked from those artists to create my own style and sound.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I’ve done a lot of recording with the pandemic happening in 2020. I felt like I should give fans some of the music I’ve created this year so early 2021 be on the lookout for a new Ep.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

The only challenge I’ve been faced with is just being in front of a bigger audience. That’s the missing piece for me. My drive to be successful is my greatest attribute. I strive to be better with each song, project, or verse.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

That’s a funny question. And of course I’m going to say yes.

What are your plans for the near future?

I want to continue dropping music and visuals to keep building my following.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

I want to thank everyone who’s been supportive through tour my musical journey.

How can fans find you?
