Exclusive Kween Ken D Q&A

How did you come by your stage name?

Oh, that is simple Kween is an acronym for Kill, Win, Everything, Everywhere, Now. Ken D. Is like barbies companion and he a doll and I be dolled up but can turn to GI Joe and a acting Woody. And I took inspiration from Ms. Minaj-Petty as she is a big inspiration to me and my artistry.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

Well my brother Adregga was rapping long before I was and I always look to him to be in the know. I continuously send him songs sometimes 2 or 3 a day, and he was like you should go do this in the studio and record yourself.

At first, I was like whatever but then I thought this guy has been rapping since like 6 or so grade done been with August, Boosie, and some pretty heavy people in the industry, And he told my Gay self that I got something. I’m like for real? I’m going to at least give it ago. That is how the Gay Gangsta series was born.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Myself, my mother Ms.Jazzy with a y and the Goats of their Era you know Missy as a videographer, Jay-Z with his business moves and sophistication as well as his proudness for our people, Nicki cause she is the Queen. Uh Teena Marie who was phenomenal, Denise, Patti, Whitney, Kandi from Xscape, Luther, Millie Jackson, and Betty Wright.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I got so many new projects coming out, but Gay-G and Gay Gangsta V3 will be out before summer and I have a show which is being pitched to the networks. It will be a variety show that showcases me and my brother as well as a few other segments.

Plus some good cooking laughs, and great performances from local and international talent. That’s about all I’d like to disclose on that matter.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I work hard and I just can’t be outworked. I have a deep desire to fulfill something much bigger than me and much deeper than the game. This is surely for the culture.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

There isn’t a rapper who’s better, ain’t a chef greater, and nobody has money longer respect higher, or power that’s Greater. I mean I’m not Jesus, but his hair was wool so I must look like him I believe the Bible says I was made in his image.

What are your plans for the near future?

To win and have massive success love and happiness! I know I will too, cause I’m going to ensure I do and so should you.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

I would like to thank Adregga, KyngSavage Wade, Jazzy, Tara, Vixen, Myself, and God oh Ms.Seketha, Yatta Bug, And big Chef Robbie Nowlin and lil Chef David who got more heart than any man I know.
