The Charts Will Be a Game Changer For The Indie Music Industry
How did you come by your company name?
How did I come across my company name is a really good question and I have a good answer. I actually named my company when I was 10 years old. I have always had my head in the clouds when it came to entertainment and marketing.
As I child I was so starstruck by Hollywood that at age 10 I decided to name my company Hollywood Starstruck. I had all of the kids in the neighborhood, at least those I considered friends, to stop calling me Carla and to call me Miss Hollywood. From that moment on, my company was Hollywood Starstruck.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I was 16 and I was working for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world as a Gopher. After being allowed to sit in on a Boardroom meeting, and witnessing the power my boss held, I knew at that moment, that I wanted to be in charge.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I accredit my sense of style to my mother and grandmother. My mother and grandmother are and were very classy and calm women. As a child, I watched both rules with a firm hand and a pleasant smile. In the end, they always got what they wanted. That was a style I wanted to mimic.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
One of my greatest challenges is navigating the male-dominated music industry. Men are more likely to receive lucrative distribution deals than women. Men are taken more seriously than women.
Another one of my greatest challenges is at the age of 54, I enrolled in Harvard to better my craft.
Another challenge is I started a music chart called Thee Charts. It showcases Independent Artists, Influencers, Disc Jockeys, and soon dancers.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Yes, I am. I work hard at my craft every day. There are 24 hours in a day and 20 hours of it, I am working…well most days.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout-outs?
In this exact order, I’d like to thank, God, my mom, my husband, my children, and my sister. Now that’s my family. My business partner, Derrell Ross, my sister from another mother. Raina McWhirter, my cousin, Anthony Granger, and of course my Sponsors and all fans who support my Artists.
How can fans find you?
