Interview with Music Producer and Singer Amir Ares

How did you come by your stage name?

At the starting point of my career, there was another singer artist with the same name as mine so I had to come up with an artistic name. So a friend suggested Ares (god of war, son of Zeus) and was in harmony with my first name.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

Since my childhood, I was always fascinated by live music and instruments. When I was 12 we’ve started a band with my best friends, Hamid and Saeedbsharp. We were having live performances for parties. I used to play the keyboard.

The fact that My friends were also passionate about the music made me realized that I want to turn this passion into my career. By the age of 16, I started to record my first pop album. Unfortunately, I couldn’t release it because of financial difficulties. When I was 17 I was proposed to record an album from “Avaye Mandegar records” for 3 years.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

In the Persian music industry, I was mostly fascinated by “Siyavash Sahneh”, Shadmehr Aghili and Googoosh, and in the international market by Elton John and lately, Imagine Dragons.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

One night after breaking up with my girlfriend, I was so sleepy but I couldn’t sleep because I missed her so much. I was about to text her but instead, I took a pen and started writing this song.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I invest a lot of time and energy in my work is most of the time in the studio recording and refining the details.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I believe I can be better at what I do because 80% of my projects are still in my head.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Of course. I would love to thank Amir Alizadeh and Amir Rashidi Nejad who played as steppingstones in my career and Saman Bagherpour and Ahmad Fayaz for amazing lyrics.

How can fans find you?

My Instagram is @amiraresofficial and on Spotify which is updated with my latest songs Khabam Miyad.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Never give up on your dreams! Trust your unique self and believe that everyone can have their own audience.
