Interview with Singer-Songwriter Tony ForresTT
How did you come by your stage name?
My middle name is Anthony (Tony), and ForresTT came from my high school Biology teacher whose name was Mr. Forrest. He instilled the idea of chasing my dreams at all costs, becoming a huge reason I started this journey as an artist.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
Honestly, my love for music goes too far back to even remember a specific realization point. What I will say is music is my life. Music is my closest connection to self and the best form of expressing my innermost darkest untapped feelings. I say this to say, I had no real choice but to give in to what is now my journey.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Style is such a personal ever-changing journey effected by social interaction and cultural upbringing. I personally remember hearing my dad playing Michael Jackson, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Donnie Hathaway in the car. So those artists are my roots.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
Creating a project is such a long ride through one’s emotions and normally it takes many months to pinpoint exactly what it is I want or need to express. “TIME” is a clear example of a raw look into the eyes of deep love for another who’s heart isn’t able to feel the same. Being authentic and vulnerable became the conceptual base and from there I continued the wave. “TIME” Ep coming Summer 2020.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Remembering to be patient is one of my biggest challenges, thus reminding myself daily that every dream has a journey attached to it.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I am the best at being me if that’s what you’re saying. Yes. lol
What are your plans for the near future?
My dreams are big with truly no limit. I would go into detail, but I also believe in the sacredness of keeping your heart’s desires close and protected. After all, it’s your dream; not anyone else’s right?

First and foremost Thank you God for entrusting me with the gift of music.
Thank you to everyone who spoke positivity into my journey and dreams. The constant support continues to give me much needed air in a world where breathing seems almost impossible at times.
