Country hip-hop artist Tyler Truth is carving his lane with “Dixie Cups,” a track that captures his mission to keep life simple, honest, and full of celebration. The Chicago native’s new single fuses Southern charm with Midwest storytelling, blending beats and banjo energy into an anthem for anyone ready to unwind and raise a toast.

“I just wanted to make something fun,” Tyler says. “This one’s about getting out, enjoying your night, and putting a little something in your Dixie cup.” That energy radiates through the track as it’s the sound of a good time, wrapped in the confidence of an artist who knows exactly who he is.

Growing up in Chicago might not seem like the birthplace of country rap, but for Tyler, it was the perfect foundation for building a one-of-a-kind sound. He credits the city’s diverse music culture for shaping him as both a storyteller and lyricist. “My Chicago roots helped me develop a lyrical aspect to my songwriting,” he explains. “Then I learned how to twist that into a country sound to create my own lane.” That fusion gives his songs an edge that stands out in the fast-growing world of country hip-hop, where every beat tells a story and every lyric feels lived-in.

Life on the road has given Tyler plenty of stories to tell. He recalls two moments that left lasting impressions: performing at his first Redneck Rave in West Virginia and opening in Ohio for Yelawolf and Honest Av at Summer of Sins by DJ Hylyte. Both shows were milestones for the rising artist. “Those nights reminded me why I do this,” he says. “It’s about connection and joy. Getting two encores in West Virginia was a moment I’ll never forget.”

That sense of connection extends to his upcoming music video for “Dixie Cups.” It’s not about over-the-top production or flashy gimmicks; it’s a window into the people and moments that mean the most to him. “We had a great time filming it,” he shares. “Just some of my closest family and friends. It’s real.”

Tyler’s perspective on success is grounded in gratitude. He’s seen his music featured on TV and in the press, and while he’s thankful for the recognition, he never loses sight of what matters. “It’s a dream come true,” he says. “I’ve wanted this since I was a kid, and to see it actually happening is incredible.”

As country hip-hop continues to gain traction across the nation, Tyler sees big things ahead for the genre. He believes people are drawn to its mix of raw honesty and diverse influences, the collision of backroad soul and city rhythm. For him, the goal is simple: keep it real, stay grounded, and keep the music coming. “Stay humble, stay loyal, stay honest,” he says. “That’s how you make it.”

With more songs, videos, and a new YouTube vlog series called Moments of Truth on the way, Tyler Truth is showing no signs of slowing down. “Dixie Cups” marks a celebration of the journey and a reminder to live in the moment, share it with the people who matter, and keep raising your cup to the good life.
