Steffi Fester Interview with Muzique Magazine

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I discovered my love for music at the age of 5 when I learned to play the accordion. Later I took piano lessons and went to a music high school with boarding school. The love of singing and composing has always been there ever since. After graduating from high school, I studied musicology and recorded my first songs.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I first composed pop music in German and English, and now I have arrived in German Schlager and Popschlager.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I wrote and produced my current song “Leuchtturm” (“Lighthouse”) during the Corona pandemic. The song describes the situations in life in which you want an anchor, a lighthouse to withstand the stormy times, and which gives you courage and confidence:

Not just a beacon to keep ships on a safe course: A “lighthouse” is also a welcome anchor in everyday life. Who doesn’t wish for a “rock in the surf” on which you can rely without restriction? A ray of hope that shows you the way. A beacon that shines in the darkness. A lighthouse – so unshakeable in calm as well as in stormy times.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

One of the biggest challenges for me is to have a lot of patience to achieve my goals. It is very important to believe in yourself. I am a very ambitious person and constantly working on myself, but try to be as authentic as possible. It makes me happy when I can encourage people and invite them to dream, think or dance to my music.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

No, I’m definitely not. I want to be authentic, and what I do comes from the heart. It is not important to be perfect, much more important is to touch people in the heart. People feel it.

What are your plans for the near future?

I would like to continue composing music, recording an album, and giving concerts. I want to give something back to my fans who support me so much.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout-outs?

I would like to thank my family, my friends, and fans as well as fellow musicians. In addition, I would like to thank my management “AgenturNMM – Newcomer-music-management” as well as my cooperation partners and radio stations that play and present my music.

How can fans find you?

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?

Believe in yourself and find your own way. And you need a lot of patience.
