Prynce P Talks About Sense of Style, Upcoming Project & More

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I have always been in love with music. I have a lot of musicians in my family and every time that we had a family gathering, we sang, played instruments, etc… However, I did not start recording until 2002 when I connected with a homie of mine in Atlanta. Our first single which was meant to be for fun was downloaded over 100,000 times in less than a week. Shocked by the results, we decided to start a record label and the rest is history.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I grew up listening to old school Hip-Hop, but my voice and style are both very unique. I like to be authentic and stand out, so, to answer your question, I am my own style.

On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?

My new single is entitled “Reloaded” which is another word for rebirth. We all get knocked out by life but what matters is to get back up, get stronger and keep moving forward. This single is very unique and I handpicked some of my favorite Dallas rappers to be featured in it. The features are Myself (Prynce P), Flexinfab, DQ Hampton, Flower Child, Motian, Eclipse Darkness, IQ Muzic, GSpook & Tony Ballard Jr. produced by Cloak Beats and Billy Syn.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

Although I have a strong team that steady helps me with my projects, I have to say that I am the decision-maker. I am the one who comes up with the concepts, the features, all the coordination’s, pays all the expenses, marketing, etc…It’s a lot of pressure, but at the end, when you hear your song on the radio, when you see your project featured in a magazine and when people know your lyrics, then, all the hard work is well worth it.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I believe so. I am highly OCD and I always put in 102% in everything that I do.

What are your plans for the near future?

Reloaded is my last single as an artist. I am officially putting the mic down, but, I am working towards commercials, voice-overs and having my own podcast.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

First and foremost, GOD for blessing me. My friends & family who always support my crazy ideas. All the radios and magazines who have features me for the past 17 years and overall, anyone who has supported me.
