Muzique Magazine. When did you start making music and taking it serious?
Lauria. I can’t even remember when I started writing songs, it’s what kept me from staying focused in class all my life. I started taking it very seriously when I was 18 and I was in a band.
Muzique Magazine. Do you feel that the industry needs more artist like yourself? Why?
Lauria. The music industry is home of many trends that come and go with time. Most new artist try to jump on a trend and benefit from it. I write songs that I connect to, and that I will
always connect to whether they are trendy are not. They’re for my soul, to make me feel good or describe a reality. And I think the music industry has less and less of artists like me.
Muzique Magazine. Who do you feel are the best singers?
Lauria. Adele, without a doubt has a voice that would make any singer jealous. I also love The Weeknd’s voice.
Muzique Magazine. Who was your inspiration?
Lauria. At the risk of being a cliche, Beyonce & Rihanna. I grew looking up to both of them, learning to appreciate their strengths and learn from them. Beyonce for her voice, her performances her creativity and Rihanna for her attitude, her rawness and her versatility.
Muzique Magazine. What is your favorite song?
Lauria. Changes everyday. Today, it’s Rise Up by Andra Day. I don’t remember what it was yesterday and I don’t know what it’ll be tomorrow!
Muzique Magazine. Tell us about your new project.
Lauria. My next song “I got me” will be more pop with a hint of pop rock in the mix. It’s all about being okay with being alone, with rejection.
Muzique Magazine. What is your ultimate goal at the end of your career?
Lauria. I just want to be able to live comfortably from my art. Life stresses me. Music calms me down. I would love to be able to do music everyday without having to study or work on the side.
Muzique Magazine. How can potential fans find you?
Lauria. I am on most social media networks and my song is on all legal streaming apps!
