Interview with upcoming artist Ase Card

How did you come by your stage name?

Great question! Early in my career as a teenager, I was looking in the dictionary for words to learn and rhyme with; And after about 3 previous name changes, I came across the word “Ace”, saying that it is someone that is an expert at something, among other definitions. I feel as if I am an “Ace” at music and typically in a card game an ace card can not be beaten. Combine the two and you have the makings of your man AseCard.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

Well as a kid, my parents listened to music all the time. On top of that, they listened to all genres of music, so that kind of gave me the ear to all music as long as it sounds good. I fell in love with the feeling music gave me first and then found out all the art the happens to create a song. It was marriage after that. It made me appreciate everything about music and the music industry to the point that I decided I would like to make a career out of this. Also, especially after getting the immense encouragement that I had the talent to do music over the years starting when I was 8.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Hmmm, that’s a nice one. I would accredit my style to my cousins and the West Coast culture. My parents let me wear a little bit of swag, but not enough to “fit in” or “stand out” per say. So I developed my own style stemming from the culture and the swag of my older cousins. Now I do my own thing and set trends (anonymously, lol).

What are your plans for the near future?

My next album is entitled “Flirting With Disaster” and its majority produced by my 707 partners, RoadRunnah. It will include amazing new music relating to myself and current times with features like Nef The Pharoah and more on there. I will be releasing more music, forever and always, along with continuing my Poppa Bear Vlog that I just recently started. I am in talks of producing web and television projects, soundtracks, and merchandising. Plus way more to come that is a surprise. The future is very bright for AseCard and SoapMuzik productions. Please stay tuned.
