Starting out in Gary, Indiana, Kim grew up in a single-parent household with a younger brother. Often, her mom had to work so she was responsible for him most of the time. To pass the time, she often wrote songs and poetry to pass the time. As time went on she developed a passion for music through watching her younger brother, Midwest Rapper K-Dubb in street battles and later shows. She became fascinated with coordinating the shows and battles with different artists and became known as True for her reliability when it came to promoting events.

In 2001, Kim started True Heiress Entertainment and began having intimate events for artists. She coordinated events for individual artists like Listening Parties, album signings, and walk-through appearances. In 2010, Kim began consulting artists and managers on innovative marketing and production concentrating primarily on the Midwestern United States for 9 years.

In 2019, Kim became a co-owner of WeGetYaHeard and coordinated the “WeGetYaFed” Thanksgiving Drive and was instrumental in the success of the A3C Mansion Party in Atlanta in October 2019. After a short time, Kim realized that WeGetYaHeard had a different vision from hers and they parted ways with no hard feelings. She wishes them infinite success. Kim decided that 2020 is the time to realize her own vision and created Magnetic Shift Evolution.

Magnetic Shift Evolution is the new wave in music and entertainment. Our goal is to bring back the music culture in the Midwest and create an industry that is respected so that the independent artist can grow their career right here where they started it! We are creating innovative ways for everyone in the music industry to thrive even on a small budget. This company is moving quickly to be the go-to place for the independent artist!

How did you come by your brand name?

Well, A magnetic shift is when the Earth’s magnetic fields change so much that the positions of magnetic north and magnetic south are interchanged. Is the Earth upside down? No, but the magnetic energy of the Earth is reversed.

So in watching the events as they unfold with weather, politics, and technology, I decided that music and entertainment should not be behind the curve. Magnetic Shift Evolution is the dawn of a new day in the way we receive our music, view film, and other facets of the entertainment industry.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I’ve always loved music. Most of my family sang in the church choir so music was always a very big part of my life. I began writing raps with my younger brother at around 11 and it was like therapy for me. As I got older, I gained major interest in the business aspect of music and what it took to see all of those things that were coming across my screen at the time.

I loved to read so I began to study the moguls like Barry Gordy. Then in 2012, I came across the name Cara Lewis in Variety and she said and I quote “The key to success in this business is tenacity, ethics, creativity, resourcefulness, and perseverance.

Never take No for an answer!” I said That’s Me! Here it was the FEMALE agent that flew to fame from an Erick B. and Rakim shoutout on Paid in Full in 1987 is here in Variety magazine unknowingly telling me to live my dream and I’ve been doing it ever since.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Well, I’m a curvy lady so I wear what makes me feel good. I like playing with my look, staying on-trend while remaining classic.

On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?

The SXSW festival has been a vessel for art and music for so long. We want to add some “SHIFT” to it. We wanted to give artists from the Midwestern United States a stage because they are often overlooked in the bigger scheme of music. So the Midwest Takeover is the symbolism that says the Midwest is here, we have a music industry and culture.

Its gonna be a really great time with a lot of phenomenal talent. The Rhythm of Beauty Showcase and Day Party is a brand new event for us displaying the best MUAs in the country with unique, exotic, animal, SFX, cosplay, and traditional makeup as well as fashion.

Makeup has gotten to be such a huge industry and these artists deserve to be recognized on such a large platform, The Manifest Destiny Cyphers are for artists that just want to stand out on talent alone. It’s a great opportunity for Midwest producers and artists to have a major spotlight and I’m honored to be able to provide that platform.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My biggest challenges are my lack of patience. I like things done on schedule. Many times, someone’s career may be in my hands so I’m very particular about that type of thing. That leads me to my biggest attribute… I am result-driven. When I get a goal in mind, I won’t stop until the desired result is met.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

If you ask anyone that question and they tell you NO, keep it moving because they don’t believe in themselves so there is no way you can believe in them. That’s my opinion.

What are your plans for the near future?

I plan to move swiftly on uniting the Midwest to emerge as a culture and as industry using innovative technology. Offering a new way to navigate the industry ethically. Be on the lookout!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Of course lol. I want to thank my husband and kids for being so understanding and supportive through this journey. Especially, my husband who has been a shoulder to cry on and lean on who has kept an open mind and a semi-open wallet lol.

I’d like to thank Xsquisit D-Edge That guy is just a phenomenal resource, he has a wealth of information, and he provided his digital platform XDE to artists involved with my project. He is a great businessman and friend Thanks Edge!
