Artist Rocky Wallace Releases New Music 5 Song EP Self Titled Rocky Wallace

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I really always wanted to sing. It was the only thing I wanted as a child. I tried every sport and activity under the sun but nothing was more moving to me than the movie Grease… which I was probably too young to be watching but it was my FAVORITE movie and I knew (or made up) the words to every song.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I accredit my style to my personal hero’s Aretha Franklin and Amy Winehouse. Discovering their gifts at such a young age definitely shaped how I sing and write.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

My current project is really a reflection of the healing and growth I’ve made over the past year. 2020 was such a difficult year for me, as well as so many others, and it really took a toll on my mental health. But it forced me to grow and heal old wounds and I feel like I’m stronger, more confident, and I’m having more fun than I ever had and this EP is really a reflection of this new phase in life.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I grew up in a family business so a strong work ethic was drilled into me at a very young age. And I certainly don’t shy away from a challenge. My greatest obstacle has been my mental health. I’m a mental fitness enthusiast. I’ve struggled with depression and working with and through it has made me a stronger, more compassionate person.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Absolutely not! I’m not the best singer or writer or performer, but I am me and I’m the best at that. I’m a believer in always learning and growing and trying to be better than I was yesterday.

What are your plans for the near future?

There are music videos for these songs that I can not wait to release and then my plan is to release more music!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shoutouts?

I’d like to that everyone who worked so hard for this EP, Frankie Jason Turner, Tommy Valentino, Matt Geroux, David Shelby, and Chris Spooner. It was the most fun I’ve ever had working on a project and I’m eternally grateful for these people! I’m so grateful for the label that my music is out on At The Studios/ CBS/ ITV/ BMG Records for this opportunity and their support!

How can fans find you?

You can just search my name, Rocky Wallace, on all streaming platforms and I’m on all social media @everythingrocky

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

I think learning to love yourself and appreciate all that you are is so important in the business. It’s so easy to get on the hamster wheel of comparison but if practicing self-love is a ritual you will be more in tune with what you are meant to do.
