Binki Barnes Exclusive Interview with Muzique Magazine
How did you come by your stage name?
Growing up, I was nicknamed “Binki Barnes” from the tv show “Authur.” This name followed me into adulthood and influenced my stage name.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I have always been a fan of music. Back in the day, my grandfather was a well-known DJ and taught me how to DJ when I was young. I DJ’ed for my 9th birthday party. I’ve always had a sweet spot for music, but due to my football career, music was put on hold.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
The early 90’s and 2000’s would receive credit for my sense of style. I’m big on hip-hop evolution and growing up I was a big fan of 50cent, Jayz, and Master P.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
“Motion Picture” was a project that was put together over time. I also have “Motion Picture Deluxe” and “Motion Picture 2” already completed. I knew I wanted to make an imprint on the game, so I chose the songs that I thought were sufficient enough for my debut album. I have so much unreleased music waiting to be heard next.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Everyday I aim to be the best me I can be.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
What are your plans for the near future?
I plan on dropping more and more music, almost every 30 days. Keep up with me.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I would like to thank Double Up Entertainment and Family for everything. I have a great team and we all contributed to making this a success.
How can fans find you?
My music is easily accessible. Just type in Binki Barnes Motion Picture on any platform. Add me on IG @BinkiVsBink.
What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?
Be consistent, believe in yourself, and thrive to get better every day, and remember Success is not owned it’s rented and rent is due every day.
