MySelf 415 Interview with Muzique
How did you come by your stage name?
I went by the name of 69 Savage throughout HighSchool and as I matured and really found MySelf I thought a name change would be in order. So, I thought why not go with something that represents who I am so I chose MySelf and added 415 to the end of it to rep where I came from.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I was always around music growing up. My mom never let me listen to rap growing up tho which is ironic so sorry about that mom. But when I wrote my first song, no matter how terrible it really was, I knew it was for me. Something about being able to control every part of your track is something that intrigues me. I’m also a writer and love to create stories in my head. I guess it’s all just a way to express myself.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
No. I might rap like I’m the greatest to ever hold a mic but I know I’m not. Secretly, I’m humble, but plz don’t tell anyone I said that. My thing is, I always know there is something I can improve on, and one day I will be a household name and possibly the greatest ever. But no one just spawns in, I know I have to work for it and I’m up for the challenge!
What are your plans for the near future?
To be completely honest, I’m starting school really soon some a plan is to graduate top of my class. I was never good in school but I’m going for something I really enjoy so I hope it’s different. As for music, I’m really trying to push my music to more people and a goal of mine is to reach at least 100k plays by the end of the year. I’m at 30k right now but I’m really starting to get my name out there recently.
