Exclusive Interview With Stackboi Tank -Rising HipHop Artist From Detroit

As we all know, you are known as Stackboi Tank, which is quite a unique display name. How did you come up with it?

Almost 10 years ago, I formed a group with “The Real Stackboiz” which included all of my closest friends and family. We had a great time together performing music at many concerts.

But as time progressed, we all got busy with our stuff. So to continue that legacy, I opted for the brand name “Stackboi Tank” to link up with the people who were already a fan of my band and the new ones.

Where are you from, and how was your early childhood?

Okay, so I belong to the city of Detroit, Michigan. I have spent all my life here but I would leave in a heartbeat if it’s for a career move.

My early childhood was not full of luxuries and comforts, but I was always grateful for what I had. And I guess this is the only way through which you can achieve peace and tranquility in your life.

What was the exact point in your life when you decided to make music your career?

When I left school, I knew I was not the type to go for boring corporate jobs. And since childhood, I had a thing for music that no one else understood at that time.

The birth of my daughter also played a huge role in aligning my life. For the first time in my life, I felt the burden of responsibility on my shoulders, and since then, music has been my go-to option to pay my bills.

How would you describe your family life? And how has it helped you in becoming what you are today?

I am an extremely family-oriented person. I always wanted to make my parents and siblings proud and happy.

Since the time I had my kids, a little boy, and a girl, I have become even more motivated than before. They truly have my heart.

Whenever I’m feeling down or sad, I just look at them, and all the stress goes away. I think I’ve been blessed with two beautiful angels.

Who are your role models in the music industry who deeply inspired you?

Like everyone else, I look up to Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Future, and Hot Boys.

How has your journey been on YouTube so far?

The environment of YouTube is quite competitive; even then, my albums have hit millions of views so far. This is one of my most significant achievements and has gained me a lot of monetary gains.

I would suggest all my fellow HipHop music artists to have their YouTube channels. It will also act as a portfolio for future endeavors.

Was there a turning point that changed your perspective on life?

Like everyone else, I did have a drastic turning point in my life when one of my closest friends passed away in his hometown. Someone brutally murdered him in 2016, and we still cannot believe it.

This incident made me realize that life is too short to worry about ordinary jobs, and we should continuously pursue our passions to reach our life goals.

Do you like collaborating with your fellow artists?

Yes! I believe in collaboration as it helps you expand your horizon. So far, I have collaborated with Rio Da Yung OG, FMB Dz, and Payroll Giovanni.

All of these collaborations have been a hit and loved by many. I look forward to a lot in the coming future but cannot reveal much about those.

What is the one piece of advice you would like to give to aspiring HipHop music artists?

Believing in yourself is the way to go! You need to have firm faith in your skillset and creative capabilities to excel in your musical journey, which initially may seem complicated, but it will be worth it.

In many of your interviews, you usually ask people never to give up. How do you want aspiring music artists to deal with their failures?

Never giving up is the only way to survive in the competitive music industry. You may face a lot of setbacks and failures but getting up and trying again is the only way to your success.
