Brittany Nicole talks about her craft, sense of style and much more
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
From childhood days growing up listening to my idol, Selena, to my teenage years taking in the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson, J-Lo, Nicole I started to hone my skills as a singer by performing wherever I could locally (Tulare, California). I performed at local neighborhood gatherings, car shows, and at church.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I’m on a quest to become one of music’s newest Pop/R&B stars with a style of that bridges the Funk & Soul music of the 80’s & 90’s from groups like The SOS Band and Kool & the Gang, with the contemporary style of artists like Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, and Jennifer Lopez among others. I grew up admiring the late, great Tejano singer Selena.
Inspired by her as well as Madonna and Jennifer Lopez, I started to sing anywhere she could. That meant from church to car shows to even neighborhood events. All the while she learned how to command attention with not only my voice but stage presence. That led me to perform around Fresno, CA with various local bands.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
With the help and leadership of my producer/songwriter Carlos Guillen, we teamed up to create an incredible experience not only in music but lyrically. I wanted an album full of life stories which include break-ups and romance. Love is a universal language and what better way to express it to the world than in songs. My album is called “Breakthrough” and is me finally breaking through with my new album and life experiences.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Strive to be the very best of what I love to do which is singing. I’m on a quest to become one of music’s newest Pop/R&B stars.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
Not by a long shot! but I strive to be the best with my music and be a great roll model for the younger generation. I have a huge responsibility to my fanbase and I do not want to let them down, we have come along way together.
What are your plans for the near future?
Continue to promote my newly released album titled “Breakthrough”
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Yes, a big shot out to my songwriter/producer Carlos Guillen from LA CIMA MUSIC for giving me such great musical pieces to sing to and for continuing to make things happen. To Charlie Perez (CEO) & Monibee Henley (manager) and to my record label Round 2 Music (independent). To my family and every one of my close friends that have supported me from the beginning.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?
Keep trying to live your dream and do not let anyone stop you, it been a long journey for me but I did not give up and neither should you. “This album means a lot is the fact it’s my first original album.
I’ve accomplished a big goal in my singing career by having this done. Although I didn’t write the songs, I could still relate to them at different points in my life. It’s been a great experience for me doing this for the first time and I look forward to continuing my dream.” – Brittany Nicole
