Kristina Murrell Interview with Muzique Magazine

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

Growing up I always had a love for music but I really took a deeper interest during last year’s quarantine. After spending time in a professional Studio watching the process of how music is actually made and all the steps required to create a song I found a passion in it. It has become something I love and want to do for a living

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I honestly have my own style because I look up to so many different artists in different genres. I accredit my producer and manager Sonny King as he helped me find my voice and sense of style when it comes to making music.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

My new single “Let Me Drive” featuring Vanity Wyze was a collaboration. My producer Sonny King and I talked about the sound I was looking for and how I wanted a pop/r&b style of music. Sonny is a writer as well and gives direction in finding my sound and voice! Vanity wrote a really dope verse and the rest is history.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

One of my greatest challenges is overthinking. I sometimes concentrate too much on not making mistakes that I lose focus and actually end up making a mistake. My greatest attribute when it comes to my work ethic is that I am consistent, always ready to learn, and take advice.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I strongly believe I can compete with the best! Not in a cocky way but I’m confident in my ability!

What are your plans for the near future?

To continue working hard towards my career goals. I want to be known worldwide and perform for millions of people! This year we submitted my album “Passion & Pain” and songs “Stronger” and “Halfway” to the Grammy’s. I am really praying for a nomination in one of the categories and hopefully a win!!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout-outs?

Yes, a special thanks to Sonny King, Franco, and my label Music for Love, Stefano (bass), Markie (Lead Guitar), and Poet Nakesha who all contributed to my debut album “Passion & Pain”.
