Uriel Marshall, 25, professionally known as URIEL BRG (stylized in all caps), is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who brings a fresh and fearless voice to the music industry. With his latest single, “OUTTA HERE,” released on August 29, 2025, he steps into his first “era” as he finishes the production of his debut album.

Few songs embody the interplay of adversity and freedom as well as URIEL BRG‘s “OUTTA HERE.” Now up for GRAMMY consideration in the Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocal Performance category, it is a triumphant expression of artistic freedom and individual renewal.

When he is asked how it feels for him to see his content this far, Uriel does not attempt to hide his feelings: “It’s surreal. I dreamed of it as a child — to be able to vie for my own GRAMMY consideration, and folks relate to the song makes everything worthwhile.”

At its heart, “OUTTA HERE” tells the story of breaking cycles — emotional, creative, even spiritual. “The song started from a space of confusion,” he explains. “I felt invisible in my own art. But once I shifted my perspective, it became a song about transformation — about trusting that the universe will realign you when you’re ready.”

The phrase ”Nothing is truly impossible if you’re in the right frequency” is repeated as a mantra throughout the record. Uriel is a believer in energy and vibration, a message reflected in the arrangement itself, which weaves lush vocal harmonies with live instruments and rhythmic sophistication that shifts like waves.

Its evolution to its finished form was a long time coming on purpose. The seed was planted on “OUTTA HERE” years ago under another name, “Blue.” It was left undone until 2024, when Uriel came back to it with a definite intention. “I wanted this to be that one. My statement piece,” he says.

He teamed up with producer Yan Perchuk, alongside a dream ensemble including Ruslan Sirota, Roy Kariok, Chaun Horton, and Benjamin Shepherd. Together, they crafted a sound that bridges Contemporary Jazz, Pop, and Fusion, with subtle nods to Brazilian musicality, a homage to Uriel’s heritage.

Complementing the music, Uriel Marshall released a New Age instrumental variation titled “Outta Here (Arlo Blue),” under the artist name ‘Uriel’s Meditation’, a dedicated version to his nephew born in 2023. This alternate version reflects the song’s introspective origins while offering listeners a serene, meditative escape.

Visually, the project’s presentation also carries its own identity. Shot in São Paulo by photographer Henrique Augusto, the imagery channels the vibrant, surreal energy of early-2000s digital art aesthetics.

For him, this chapter is larger than accolades. As a new Recording Academy member himself, he’s using his platform to stand up for authenticity in musical creativity after recently joining Music Advocacy Day to speak out against creative artistry’s misuse of AI. “Real musicians deserve real credit,” he insists. “Our art can’t be reproduced without permission.”

Ahead of releasing his debut album “VIRGINITY,” Uriel characterizes the album as a “sonic coming-of-age” part funked up and part contemplative, with elements of indie-punk, silky-smooth jazz sounds, and present-day pop sensibilities. Whether “OUTTA HERE” makes its home on the album or exists outside of it as its own EP, already it’s fulfilled its mission: to demonstrate that intent and authenticity can still pierce through noise.

“All of us believe freedom is escaping somewhere,” Uriel concludes. “But to me, freedom is arriving somewhere, arriving at who you are created to be. And that’s what ‘OUTTA HERE’ is all about.”
