LOUIS X Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

I came up with my DJ name as I wanted a stage name that could have been more memorable. I was outside of a Louis Vuitton store in Verona, Italy and I said to myself what an easy name to remember.

During that period I was watching a TV series about Louis the 10th, King of France. So my Stage name came alive, LOUIS X. My girlfriend at that time was laughing but my friends approved so I kept it.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I fell in love with Dj-ing and Music Production/Composition at the young age of 16. During that time I was working as a waiter in a restaurant in Mykonos, Greece where also I am from. One night David Guetta was playing in the biggest club here called Cavo Paradiso, this was around 2007.

My Co-worker decided to take me to that party even though I was underage. The emotions I felt and the love for what David Guetta was doing made me realize that I want to do this for the rest of my life. That year is when I bought my first music software and the next year my first DJ equipment.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

There are many Djs over time that influenced me some names are David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Carl Cox, Benny Benassi, Daft Punk, Tiesto, and many more.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

On my latest 3 releases which are remakes, I wanted to bring back old songs that I loved as a teenager and give them a more modern electronic sound. I am talking about “Here She Comes Again”, “Street Spirit”, and “Touch Me”.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My greatest challenge is mostly the balance between what I love to produce and what people love to hear. Also if I want to make music for clubs or music for streaming services.

When it comes to my work ethic and all arts there are periods that I am all day making music and putting down ideas but also long periods of doing nothing and trying to find inspiration.

I find inspiration mostly in traveling and seeing new cultures. I try every day to sit at least 30mins on the piano and see what I can come up with.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

By far I am not the best in what I do, but I am trying every single day to be better and reach the desired level. For me is not about being the best is about connecting with people through my music and DJ shows.

What are your plans for the near future?

This Summer I will be a resident DJ in a Club Called Cosma Mykonos, located in Mykonos Town, Greece. After the summer is when my Asian Tour starts in Vietnam, Bali, and Thailand.
