How did you come by your Podcast name?
The name “The One 5 Cast” stands for 15 minutes as I strive for each podcast episode to 15 minutes or less.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
As a child, it was my dream to be a sports announcer. It was around my sophomore of high school is when I gained the hunger to become a journalist.
On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?
I am currently in the midst of writing my first book, my goal is to have my manuscript complete in the next month or two. My father’s true crime memoir was published in 1994 by New Horizon Press.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
One of the greatest challenges that I face is the majority of my target audience does not subscribe or listen to podcasts. My constant challenge is finding creative ways to engage my target audience into listening and downloading my podcast episodes.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I believe that I am the unknown best at what I do. But I also believe that the “best” is a matter of opinion and perception. Just because a journalist or any artist is not popular it does not mean that there are not the best or greatest at what they do.
What are your plans for the near future?
I want to continue putting out new episodes of The One 5 Cast. I am currently in the midst of writing my first book, my goal is to have my manuscript complete in the next month or two. My father’s true crime memoir was published in 1994 by New Horizon Press.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
I would like to thank my first three guests on The One 5 Cast. Rapper NiGe Hood, sky-high jumper Guy Oliver, and journalist Wesley Robinson.
