Interview with Miami based Rapper 2millie

How did you come by your stage name?

My stage name 2millie comes from inspiration the two are for a second chance at life. When I was young I was in the 7th grade like 14. I got into a car accident and the glass broke and cut the top of my head which left a scar on my forehead.

But I felt like if I would have moved up the glass would have hit my temple and I would have not been here anymore. And the millie is for motion. One of my biggest goals is to be financially secured in life. So I felt like what better way to remind myself of this goal is to make sure I hear it every day and put it together you get 2millie.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I was listening to an Eminem project and I just like the way he expressed his self through his music all the pain and hurt he went through he just put it all on a table. I was going to some things as well at that time and that is what made me pick up a pin and express my situation through music.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

My style is all me I don’t think when people hear my music they can say oh he sounds like this rapper or that rapper. I think I have my own unique style

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

My current project which is out now is called “Laptop and a Mic”. You can listen to it now on DatPiff, Coast2Coastmixtapes, and 2millie305.com. The name came from a simple concept that I been doing for a while. I mean I use a laptop and a mic to do all of my music. I don’t have or go to a big studio with all the big equipment. I just have a laptop and a mic. I figure to just name my next mixtape that.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My biggest challenge so far is to get over some of my early career failures. Like one time I had booked a place for a mixtape release party. People ask to help but I denied. So the night of the party I got to the club and realized I didn’t book a DJ and didn’t have the proper equipment to play or perform my music.

I had to cancel on the spot. I felt so bad that I let everyone down that still bothers me to this day. My biggest attribute would be my passion because I don’t do this for money or to get signed. I do music because it helps me express myself whenever I’m going through something.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Yes, why not feel like I’m the best I put in the work I put my own money behind my music 100 percent independent. a lot of artists can’t say that. I feel like my mixtape and single be better than a lot of music that’s out right now. just give it a listen you be the judge.

What are your plans for the near future?

My plan is to drop two mixtapes in 2020. The first mixtape “Laptop and a Mic” is out now and I’m currently working on “Laptop and a Mic 2” that’s near future, but a couple I wanna start my own record label.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Hmm, shout to the guys lol guys cause there some many different hands that mix and master my music and also Platinum sellers beat and paper fall Bros big fan also use there beats.

How can fans find you?

Simple www.2millie305.com and if you a true fan drop your email and become a member you get all my new music first.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Get grinding forget the hater’s nobody believes in you until you make it. so of the biggest artist was called trash before they made it just don’t give up.
