Behind The Scenes
Interview with Author and Humanitarian Christine Reidhead
Growing up in a competitive household, Christine Reidhead learned valuable life lessons that continue to resonate today and discovered an inner drive that constantly pushes her to new boundaries. Born and raised in Arizona, she continues to use that drive to push herself to new limits. A natural athlete and gifted writer, she earned her Bachelors of Science in Education from Prescott College and a Masters of Accounting from the University of Phoenix. Christine continually seeks new challenges to make her a better person.
Christine is currently a Professor of Business and the Business Department Chair as well as the Faculty Vice President. Not done there, she serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise of Albuquerque, and is a program manager for the Department of Transportation Grant.
Giving back has always been important to Christine. Her passion for helping others led her to start the nonprofit organization AfrikRising. A mother of two sons, Christine ensures her team does everything it can to help poor children. This is where her true strength comes from. The warmth that comes from helping others, without asking anything in return, is one of the many reasons that makes Christine special.
How did you get the idea to start your book?
My college students were asking for help and guidance as they were preparing for job interviews. I saw the need to develop a simple, quick read book to help them through the process.
When did I realize I wanted to become an author?
Working at a University for about eight years helped me realize that students continuously asked for assistance throughout the years and I felt I could help make a difference in their lives and help them prepare better for their future. I want them to be successful.
How did you develop your drive for success?
At a very young age, we had to work hard. I always loved sports and am very competitive, and that competitive drive has transferred to my professional career and led me to where I am today.
Are you working on a new book?
Yes, I am working on one called, “Thinking of Starting Your Own Business?” which helps people through the beginning stages of a business idea to decipher if starting their own business is a good idea or not.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Oh, I have a huge work ethic. Once I become focused I go full force ahead. I really just enjoy working and always love working on a project. I am really passionate about dreams, goals, and success. I believe you can do anything you put your mind to.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I always strive to be the best.
What are your plans for the near future?
Complete my doctorate degree, my next book, and work on Tom Davis’s Biography.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
Tom Davis is an amazing mentor and one of the best. April for always supporting me. My mother for always listening to my crazy ideas and my boys for being easy going and always going with the flow.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Do the things you are passionate about and follow your dreams. Do not let others stop you or keep you from taking risks and stretching yourselves. Growth always comes when we’re out of our comfort zone. Constantly strive to be out of your comfort zone.
