“GOONA” Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

My real name is Gunnar Arteseros, my stage name is, ‘Goona’. It’s similar to my real name and it’s easy for my fans to remember!

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I am an artist, my passion for music has obliterated everything in its path for my entire life. Whenever there was a choice between music and anything else, music won every single time. No one person or thing could ever come close to the feeling I get when the music hits right.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Growing up listening to artists like 50 Cent, Wu-Tang Clan, Boosie Badazz, Backstreet Boys, and Usher, I been inspired most recently by American rapper, singer, and songwriter Youngboy Never Broke Again.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I try to give my listeners an introspective look at my past and present with an ambitious message for the future. I don’t sit around looking for things to write about I just live my life and write about my experiences.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I have always had this drive inside me, I crave success constantly and I believe if you truly want something in life then all you have to do is trust your mind to strive to be the best at one thing. My greatest challenge is myself. Sometimes I have bad days, just like everyone else, I’m human, but I have to make a choice on those bad days whether I’m going to be my biggest support or my biggest roadblock in my career.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

No, but I’m a lot better than 90% of hip-hop artists trying to make it. There is a ton of trash and clout chasers out here. I believe that there is always room for improvement and I’m going to keep pushing myself to be the greatest.

What are your plans for the near future?

I have something I’ve been working on the past few weeks that is huge!!! I can’t say anything too specific yet but all I can say is 2021 is about to be lit!??

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

huge thank you to Rob Dymez for helping me get some traction when I first started making music. Also a huge shoutout and thank you to Zach Farlow.

How can fans find you?

I’m on all music platforms as, ‘Goona’ and my Instagram handle is @ybgslimee also my linktree has all my main links!

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Don’t listen to what people say. if making music makes you genuinely happy, then make music. vision without action is just a dream.
