Fefe Blanco talks about her craft, sense of style and more

How did you come by your stage name?

FEFE is an adaptation from my birth name, Efe. and Blanco is an adaptation from the name of a strong independent woman. (not necessarily her lifestyle, but the resilience showed and the fact that a woman can become that which she set out to be.)

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I have always known I wanted to sing. But it became even clearer after I survived a ghastly motor accident which took the life of my friend. My life flashed before me, and I realized, I could have died without being able to share my gift with the world. I began my music career officially in 2013, with the release of my first single titled AURA

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I am a huge fan of Aliya, and I drew my style inspiration from her. However, my music is a combination of my style, and many other musical mentors to numerous to mention.

On your project, how did you come up with the concept?

My new project is a six track EP titled UNCOMMON which was released on the 6th of March 2020. I wanted to use this project to;

– Tell my story

– Show case the groovy side of me

-Create an upbeat club, dance song.

-Show case my versatility with different genres of music

and basically give music lovers something different, yet unique and uncommon to listen to.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I think one of my greatest challenges has been to find people who are able to conduct themselves professionally around me. Luckily, I have a brilliant new team, and I am grateful for the opportunity to reach the world with my music with the help of my team. My greatest attribute will be my ability to hold it together and keep going when everyone else is tired.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Well, If I can say so myself, Yes.

What are your plans for the near future?

I just launched a company called Platinum Dynasty, under which, I released my new body of work. I am currently the only artist on my label. It is my hope, that in the near future, we can sign on more talented individuals; musicians, producers, etc and help other talents get seen and heard. I also hope to set up a foundation. for accident victims who need help in the future.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

I want to thank my team at Platinum Dynasty, we all worked so hard on the UNCOMMON EP. I also want to send love and light to all my friends and supporters (keep streaming, sharing and requesting my music, let’s grow our community together). And to everyone reading this and the world at large, I pray for healing and strength through this global pandemic. Together, we shall overcome.
