Exclusive Interview with Presley Tennant

How did you come by your stage name?

Presley Tennant: that is my name and also my stage name

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

When I was 10 years old, I started to do different talent shows in my surrounding towns and really grew a liking to performing. During one of the competitions, I was scouted by a girl group called the 5LPs or the 5 Little Princesses.

I began training with them in dance and vocals and fell in love with the lifestyle of being in the music industry. The more I continued in the group, I fell more and more in love and knew that performing is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I would 100% say that I take inspiration from my favorite artists such as Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Chris Stapleton. I admire them so much but in different ways. Carrie for example, I love the power and strength in her voice, for Miranda, I love the feistiness and sass in her songs, and for Chris, I love how soulful he is and how he truly tells a story every time he sings.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I wouldn’t say that there is necessarily a concept to the songs I’m writing, instead are just things that I’ve experienced or maybe someone I know has experienced and taken inspiration from it.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I feel like one of my greatest challenges is that I’m a young artist. Not many people look at young artists and take them seriously.

I feel like that’s been my greatest struggle but also one of my biggest strengths as I’ve grown up in the music industry and already know exactly who I am and what my sound is already.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I don’t think anyone is the best at what they do because there’s no such thing as true perfection, just always learning. I feel like as an artist you can always improve and work at bettering your craft. As long as you’re working hard and never settling, you’re gonna keep moving along in a positive way.

What are your plans for the near future?

Currently, I am flying back and forth from California to Tennessee and Alabama for writing and recording new music. I have about 10 songs completely finished and have a roll-out plan for each plan.

I’m hoping to be signed in the near future and hopefully, once safe, I can get back to performing. I’m ready to get this show back on the road haha.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

I’d like to thank everyone that’s been on my journey and has helped me in any way, especially my team now. I’m so incredibly grateful for the amount of support in my corner.

My parents, family, and friends are so supportive in everything I do, as well as Paula Anne who is tremendously involved in my journey has definitely been one of the greatest people to come into my life.

She pushes me to strive for success unlike any other. Constantly working and putting so much attention into my career. I don’t know what I’d do without her.

How can fans find you?

You can find me on all social media which is @PresleyTennant except for Facebook which is @PresleyTennantOfficial.

What suggestions do you have for another artist like yourself?

I would say to never stop growing. You can always strive to be better than what you were and so never stop trying to push yourself and love what you do.
