Chrys Phillips is an Australian film director and best-selling, award-winning author.  Chrys was the first ever Australian woman to direct, produce and air a hit TV show on Amazon TV without raising any capital. The show (called Counterplay) is a hit and is currently airing its second season. In the height of COVID, Chrys directed and produced two feature films- one of which was based on her bestselling book Madison & The Happiness Jar. The show is currently available to watch on Amazon, Apple TV, Roku & Sky UK.  

The first thing I do in the morning is…  

I drink juice and do a quick 15 minute yoga stretch session

Hah! hyper allergenic concealers as I haven’t ever used one

You must a have tough skin, otherwise it’ll knock you over. You have to have a driven attitude and do long hours  
 

The best advice for writing a book is…  

Write a first draft then edit it once, then stop and give it to a professional editor otherwise you’ll keep rewriting your rewrites  
 

My most treasured possession is… 

Of course my daughter  
 

My biggest career regret is…  

Being to shy when I started in the film industry to talk to very high profile people that could’ve assist me more. I allowed my shyness to stop some prospective opportunities  
 

One thing I wish people knew about me is…  

I was a paid artist & tutor many years ago, painting and sketching.
