DJ Quarantina Interview with Muzique Magazine
How did you come by your stage/brand name?
I came up with my artist name DJ Quarantina because it was during the pandemic and the government closed down all the restaurants in the Netherlands for a long time. And I had finally time to make and record and distribute my own tracks. Because I am a Chef by profession, and normally work for long days. Finally time for DJ Quarantina!! And I started making and doing my own stuff.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
When I was a child my mother and grandmother were always playing the piano. Every day I listen to lots of kinds of music. Rock, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Classic, and the beginning of house music. In the 90’s when I found out I had musical talent and I started playing piano and guitar, singing, and dancing. I went to art college and started making rock songs in the school band with my friends. The first oldest picture of me was when I was singing and dancing when I was 6 years old.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
My style is doing and making what I want. Experimental, jazz, soul, rock, hard rock, house, trance, techno Experiment with lots of instruments and beats.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
Sometimes it’s a sound in my head. We something that I hear. A feeling, music is life.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
To find time to finish projects. Because I have a Bizzy lifestyle to stay focused on my music.
How can fans find you?
I have all my tracks on SoundCloud. Some on Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Amazone music, YouTube, and the rest of the music streaming services.
