L.I.B Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

L.I.B is actually my name Libni, but when I was in school everyone called me Lib, and many times I had to spell it for people to say it correctly that’s why I came up with L.I.B so people take a pause between each letter.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I use to play pretend to be a famous artist when I was 6 years old, I was 12 years old when I wrote my first song. But I started singing at 6 years old at church until I was 22 back in my home town Aguascalientes, México. But only a few years ago I finally had the courage to believe in myself enough to pursue this career.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

I love music all good music although I do have special music in my heart by Amy Whinehouse, Lauryn Hill, Calle 13, Zoe, and Natalia Lafourcade.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I wrote this song 3 years ago and it was about believing in myself and taking back my power, the song “Yummy Yumm (Libchata) is one of my first bilingual songs. I have written over 100 songs in the past 2 years. So I am excited to show this to the world.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I am currently an independent artist so I do everything when it comes to my project although my music producer is my youngest sibling JCL. Sometimes it’s so hard to make my own music videos and make it work by recording myself and editing them as well. But I love the challenge and I enjoy everything I do.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Yes, I am the best and I do believe I have a lot of talent and vision.

What are your plans for the near future?

To go viral around the world in mainstream media and social media with my latest song and for the world to know who I am.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout-outs?

My brother JCL for making all the amazing music and producing my songs and of course for believing in me as well. He is the best producer ever!

How can fans find you?

My website is www.dimelib.com and they can find me on all social media platforms as @Dimelib

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?

Do not stop for anyone’s opinion, and don’t wait for anyone to say you are good enough, no one will believe in you at the beginning when you are just starting. You have to believe in yourself no matter what happens, keep pushing, keep moving forward, and most importantly take action toward your dreams. Don’t ever forget you are Good Enough!
