Shena Samone talks about her sense of style, challenges, and more
How did you come by your stage name?
I initially was going to just stay with my first name but it seemed to plain for me so I used my first and middle name it seemed to flow well together and there you have it, Shena Samone.
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
The very first time I auditioned for a band and made it, and discovered that I had a talent as well as I feel that music is therapeutic not only for myself but for the audience as well, defining moment when I sang I will always love you by Whitney Houston, someone approached me after the show and said he had just lost his wife and that was her favorite song, and I did the song great justice.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
I would have to say besides myself, some of the legends Anita Baker, Toni Braxton, Chaka Khan.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
The concept is just me showing elements of who I am and bits and pieces of my life.
What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
Some of my greatest challenges are overthinking and getting into my head about the projects that I release, wanting them to be perfect. When it comes to my work ethic I will say my attitude 99% of the time is positive, I am a great team player and get the projects done on time.
Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?
I am the best version of me at what I do.
What are your plans for the near future?
Continue to create music, open my own rum brand, go back to school, and get my degree in Music Therapy, eventually have my own record label.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
My parents and siblings for their constant support, my team/Producer M.A.D. Smooth for always looking out for me and keeping me focused and out of my head, and my friend and fans that have been rocking with me from day one on this journey.

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?
Keep pushing through it may seem hard but, you have to do the work and not give up. Always invest in yourself and read all contracts that you receive don’t just sign papers. Don’t be afraid of your talents you have them for a reason do not sleep on them.
