Meet Rising Vancouver HipHop Duo Souls Rest and Listen to Their New Album “COSMONAUTS”

As we all know, this has certainly not been an easy time for artists, be we are so happy to report that things are always brewing for some musicians who don’t give up. On the contrary, they are still out there, making people’s lives better with music and creativity.

It’s the case for Souls Rest, a fantastic duo focusing on combining hip-hop with R&B and other notable influences! They’ve recently brought out a new release into the world. The new project is titled Cosmonauts,  a perfect blend of some of the artist’s main musical influences, including neo-soul, hip-hop, and even hints of pop and R&B. However, the pair managed to develop a distinctive, personal sound that’s hard to tie into specific categories.

I am a big fan of artists that make it difficult to put the finger on them, and in this case, I appreciate the original vision that drives Souls Rest music. The album kicks off with one of its catchiest songs: Bad Habit. It sets the mood and invites the listeners into a perfect introduction to what this duo is all about. The beat has a nice 90s flavor, and both vocalists remind me of some of the best Mcs of the glory days, mainly due to how they allow their vocals to interplay with one another so perfectly seamlessly.

The second track, “Close Enough,” has a more modern feel, and it is more melodic than the following, “Cosmonauts,” which happens to veer more towards the realm of old-school hip-hop. There are so many great highlights on this album, but “Lighter” happens to be one of my absolute favorites. The vocal melodies remind me of modern legends such as Miguel or The Weeknd, and the production is superb. These are only some of the best and most unforgettable moments on this album, in my opinion, but each song has got something unique to offer – so don’t take my word for it, and listen for yourself.

I would warmly recommend listening to this release if you are a fan of artists like Mos Def, LL Cool J, DMX, A Tribe Called Quest, and even Prince or Frank Ocean, only to mention but a few. This remarkable album stands out as a great introduction to the duo’s music, and it is a taste of great things to come.

Please find out more about Souls Rest and not miss out on Cosmonauts and its ten songs. The release is going to be available on the web soon!
