Canadian professional dancer and choreographer Kelli Gautreau knows how important music is to any production, so much so that she has used music to help bring her career in the arts from Canada (where she started training at the age of five in ballet, jazz, tap, and gymnastics at her mother’s dance studio – The Broadway Dance Academy – in Ontario), to the stages of Broadway in New York City.
And while he stage credits bring credibility to her craft, Kelli’s passion for changing the world through dance and music is what really sets her apart. Years back she started Dancing 4 Change, which gathers together young dancers from both Canada and the United States to come together and create thought-provoking dance videos to help raise awareness for charitable organizations around the world.
From bullying to the #MeToo movement, to now gun violence in schools, no subject is off-limits for Kelli and her group. Her dance videos have gained tens of thousands of views online, and with the dance videos backed by music by Emmy Award-winning composer Jeremy Lamb, Kelli has helped attract and bring attention to the important issues we face.
With a strong heart and passion, Kelli is getting set to release her newest video in the months ahead and tells Muzique Magazine that she is open to more artists who are passionate about making a difference and would love them, or anyone wishing to sponsor a video or be a part of a future Public Service Announcement short film to head over to www.dancing4change.com and get in touch.
Music has no boundaries, and neither does a dance. Put them together to create a powerful message and its unstoppable!
