Diane Arkenstone Interview with Muzique Magazine
When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I was 3 years old when I wrote my first song and knew then that crafting songs and telling stories in songs, was all I ever wanted to do.
To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?
Nature is my inspiration and always has been. I grew up in the country on a ranch and spent a lot of time in nature listening to the songs of birds and the wind in the trees with all the subtle complexities and tones of the birds and different pitches of the wind and the rain and could hear layers of harmonies in all of it.
On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?
I was living in the Southwest between the Navajo and Ute Nations, off an old dusty road, and missed the ocean and sea life and created the first Aquaria album. The new album, Aquaria ll Ascension, is a follow-up to that album but with a message of female empowerment and humanity ascending up to love, nurturing peace, and a higher awareness.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?
I have never had challenges, it all flows easily and I can start a song and pick up where I left off days or years later. There are not enough years in this lifetime to record all that I have written and will write. It’s just pure fun.

David Arkenstone and I continue to write a lot of music together and he is a joy to create with I am forever grateful for all the projects we have done together.
