Behind The Scenes
Interview with Composer and Piano player Amin Homaei
Amin Homaei (Persian: امین همایی; born July 13, 1984) is an Iranian composer and piano player. Trial and error was the way he chose to learn music, the way he continues to this day. The traditional music of Iran had a deep influence on him, an influence that can still be seen in his works. Spring Blossoms is his first recorded album, which was released on May 1, 2019
When did you discover your love for your profession and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?
I feel that I gradually became interested in music.
What or who do you credit your sense of style too?
Iranian traditional music
What are some of your biggest challenges and what is your biggest work ethic?
As a composer, my biggest challenge is staying motivated to achieve the goals I have defined in my work life. Composers often receive the least positive feedback from society, so much attention is paid to singers and musicians that sometimes the composer seems to be forgotten altogether.
Interview with Composer and Piano player Amin Homaei
I strongly believe in teamwork, and sharing ideas and opinions with each other, as long as it doesn’t turn into interfering with other people’s work. I feel this could be my biggest work ethic.
Do you think you are the best at what you do?
In the art world, being better or worse is entirely a matter of personal taste. There is no scientific reason or logic that one work of art, one art style, and one artist is better or worse than another, except for people’s taste.
What are your plans for the near future?
I am writing a piano concerto in 3 movements.
