YBZ Vandr is back on the scene with a brand new studio work: Gone Forever (Featuring G33kedout)

January 2022 – YBZ Vandr is a Chicago-based artist who has recently released a brand new project, Gone Forever.

This track is a perfect example of what it’s like to produce great modern rap music, and it also features a really spot-on collaboration with G33kedout, who added a touch of uniqueness with his contribution to the track. You might be familiar with G33kedout’s work as “Haiora,” which is his other artist name in use for other recording projects. The chemistry between the artists is absolutely on point, and there is definitely something special going on here.

The song kicks off with a beautiful guitar part, going for a reverb-driven, ambient tone that is reminiscent of post-rock (Think “Explosions In The Sky” or “This Will Destroy You.” However, a trap-inspired beat with a massive 808 comes in soon after, adding a completely different vibe to the mix. The vocals might remind you of influential emo-trap artists such as Lil Peep, as well as Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, or Lil Uzi Vert, only to mention a few.

Despite an affinity with the aforementioned artists, YBZ Vandr definitely stands out with a sound that feels unique and forward-thinking. The wide range of sounds and ideas portrayed on this record is truly remarkable, and it’s amazing to hear how much focus and care went into the making of this fascinating studio release. The artist has a unique flow, which combines the rhythmic versatility of his voice with the ability to create big and catchy melodies. The way the guitars interact with the beat is truly awesome, and it is one of the things that make the song stand out even more. If you like tracks such as “Legends” by Juice WRLD, this song should most definitely be right up your alley, on account that the instrumental vibes are in the same ballpark.

Having said that, YBZ Vandr definitely brings something unique to the table, especially in the way the lyrics and the vocal flow bring something unique to the creative vision that drives this particular release. One of the most distinctive traits of this release is certainly the energy and the drive that fuels the performance of the artist. The vocals feel very animated and spontaneous, an obvious sign that this performer is genuinely connecting with his lyrics, in a much deeper way. This isn’t just a puppet singer popping out catchy hooks: there is a deeper concept behind the songwriting, which adds weight to the mix.

In addition to the personable and edgy performance value, this release is also quite distinctive because of the sheer quality of the production. The mix is balanced and very detail-oriented, making for a lively, edgy, and stark sonic approach. In other words, there are many subtle nuances in this release, which really add to the richness of the track when summed up together.

The frequency spectrum of the mix is also very balanced, with a tight, yet deep low end working wonders along with a smooth top end, which adds a sense of clarity to the music. The song combines compelling lyrics with atmospheric sounds and a focused arrangement. Everything in the mix is balanced and creative, and the artist seems to know exactly when to use his voice to ramp up the dynamic intensity of this song. All in all, there is something truly special about how this production unfolds, going for a modern, vibrant twist.

Gone Forever stands out for its modern sound, but although the production is quite polished, it is never overproduced, allowing a lot of wonderfully organic and “human” elements to really add liveliness to the mix.

Ultimately, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a shot, particularly if you are a fan of trap with a darker and more melodic twist. This is the kind of track that will surprise you for its sonic variety, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat due to its catchy, yet unpredictable arrangement. I always love to hear from artists who set the bar higher and push the envelope when it comes to their productions: this certainly appears to be the case!

This song seems like a really great way for YBZ Vandr to kickstart the new year, bringing a touch of awesomeness to the mix as well as going for a really professional and modern production style. At the end of the day, it is safe to say that Gone Forever is a fantastic release with a fresh attitude and an open sound that sets the bar higher in terms of creativity and production aesthetics alike.

What’s more, the artist spares no expense in terms of detail and sound quality. The rich, detailed tone of the guitar in the intro is already a great way to get started and it speaks for itself, highlighting the amazingly atmospheric vibe of the music, and turning the song into an instant ear-pleaser.

Find out more about YBZ Vandr and do not miss out on Gone Forever featuring G33kedout. In addition to this original mix, a new remixed version of the track (featuring Jesus Honcho) is going to be released soon as well; so be on the lookout for that one!
