Few reality TV stars have managed to command international attention quite like Usman Umar—aka Sojaboy. From his viral rise on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days to high-profile relationships that lit up the internet, the Nigerian rapper and reality star has been a magnet for drama, admiration, and curiosity. Now, Sojaboy returns in Sojaboy 90 Day Hunt For Love, a new TLC series that promises even more jaw-dropping romance—and he’s not holding back.
In this exclusive interview with Muzique Magazine, Sojaboy talks about his new show, upcoming music, personal growth, and the infamous chapter with Baby Girl Lisa that he’s finally ready to close—for good.

Usman, fans are excited to see you back on TV! What can we expect from your new show, 90 Day: Hunt for Love? How is it different from your previous appearances?
You just have to watch to find out. I promise you, it’s different. It’s not like before where you only see one side of me. This time, people are going to see something they’ve never seen before. I’m taking more risks, being more open, and there’s way more heat, believe me. It’s not just about one relationship anymore—it’s a journey.
Can you give us any exclusive scoop—are you currently in a serious relationship, or are you still exploring love on the show?
I can’t talk about anything on the show at the moment, but you should watch and get the answers. Everything will reveal itself in the right time. Just know I’m still searching for someone real, someone who understands my world and shares my dreams.
Are the women on Hunt for Love different from the ones you’ve dated in the past? What qualities are you looking for now in a partner that maybe you weren’t before?
The ladies in this season are all hot and beautiful. You saw the trailer—you know what I’m talking about. They are in my league. This time, I’m not just looking for beauty though. I’m looking for understanding, loyalty, and someone who won’t try to change who I am. I’ve learned that love without respect is just noise.
Your music is a huge part of your identity. Do you have any upcoming tracks, collaborations, or an album in the works you can tease for us?
Yes! I have a new song coming called Dream Girl. The video was shot in London and it’s fire. Go to my YouTube channel—“Soja Boy”—subscribe and turn on the bell because we’re dropping it soon. It’s going to surprise a lot of people because it’s very real, very emotional, and it’s from my heart.
You’re known for blending Afrobeat with emotional storytelling—how has your music evolved since we first met you on Before the 90 Days?
My music career keeps moving and flying to the success of my dreams. Since Before the 90 Days, I’ve grown. I’ve had over four concerts in the UK, and soon I will do the same in the US. My sound is more mature now. I don’t just want to entertain—I want to connect, inspire, and leave something behind that matters. Thank you, USA and UK, for all the support.
There’s always been buzz about you moving to the United States permanently. Do you have any plans to relocate to America, and if so, where would you live?
Yes, I have plans to move to the U.S. And when the time is right, I will announce it to all of you. I’ve thought about cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York. It depends on where my music and my future take me. But for sure, I want to be closer to my fans in the U.S.
You also run USB Charity, which is doing powerful work in Nigeria. What current projects are you most passionate about?
Yes, I run USB Charity to help the less privileged with the money I have. I grew up with almost nothing around me—that’s the truth. And that’s why I help within my ability, because I know how much a little help can change a life. Right now, we’re working on getting school supplies and clean water for villages in the north. It’s not just a charity to me—it’s my mission.
Be honest—do you still keep in touch with Baby Girl Lisa? When was your last conversation, and what was it about?
I don’t talk to Lisa no more. She’s always spying on me though. I see things here and there, but I’ve moved on. I wish her all the best in life, but that chapter is over. It’s important for people to know when to let go. Holding on to the past holds you back.
You’ve had some very public relationships. What have you learned about love—and about yourself—through this entire journey?
Life is a learning process. So yes, I’m learning every day, and the process continues. I’ve learned that not every “yes” means yes and not every love is real. You need to know who you are before you love someone else. I’ve also learned to listen more and speak less. Let actions speak louder than words.
Lastly, Sojaboy, what’s your ultimate vision—for your career, your love life, and your legacy in Africa and around the world?
My ultimate goal in life is to be as big as I can be musically, to help who I can help, to have my own family one day and enjoy the life. I want to leave a living legacy before I leave the world. In Africa, I want to be remembered not just as a star, but as someone who gave back. Globally, I want to represent Nigerian culture in the most positive way, through my music, my story, and my heart.

90 Day: Hunt for Love is set to air on TLC starting Monday, May 26, 2025, and fans can expect an explosive season filled with drama, surprises, and raw, unfiltered moments. Alongside Sojaboy, the cast includes 90 Day veterans Tiffany Franco, Chantel Everett, Colt Johnson, Cortney Reardanz, Tim Malcolm, Jennifer Tarazona, and Rob Warne. The format mixes returning fan-favorites with new singles as they navigate the chaotic search for lasting love.
If you’re in the U.S., you can catch the show on platforms like Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, DIRECTV STREAM, and TLC GO. TLC shows are also available via Discovery+ and Max, giving fans plenty of options to binge every juicy episode.

What makes Hunt For Love different from The Single Life or other 90 Day spin-offs is the intense emotional stakes and unexpected connections between cast members who already have complicated histories. Think love triangles, shocking reunions, and confessions that will break the internet.
For Sojaboy, though, it’s more than just another reality show—it’s a step toward reclaiming his narrative. “This time,” he says, “the world will see who I really am.”And if his upcoming single Dream Girl is any indication, Sojaboy’s not just here for love—he’s here to dominate the charts and make history.
