Interview with Radio Personality and A&R “Darci Walks”

How did you come up with the name of the radio show?

My sister actually came up with the name Rhythm Unwind back when she was co-hosting with me.

When did you discover your love for radio and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

Well, I had a taste of what radio was like when I was in high school and I hosted a Blog Talk Radio show with my best friend just for fun. I knew then it would be something I wanted to do professionally in the future.

What are some of your greatest challenges?

My greatest challenge to date has been overcoming my anxiety. I’m a lot farther than I used to be but I still have a good ways to go.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Absolutely. In this industry, most people don’t care about independent artists until it’s popular to do so. I care at all times and it shows in my interviews. I take the time to treat every guest, no matter how far in their career they are, like a celebrity.

What advice  do you have for upcoming artists?

Maintain good relationships with everyone no matter how big or small. You never know who will be the next to a pop. It only takes one hit. They’ll always remember the way you treated them before they got on and they could possibly be the next person to break you in.
