New Interview with Be Kicks

How did you come by your stage name?

My real name is Beatriz Caixinha, but when I moved to the Uk I started noticing that my friends struggled to say it as it was, so with time people just started giving me nicknames and evolving to what it is today.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I started showing interest in music and drama from a very young age because my aunt is a singer herself she always gave me a lot of support. After studying theatre for 6 years I really began missing making music so I wrote pages Pages with songs, this really saved me from the anxiety and fear that moving into away from home caused me. Lockdown really made me look at things differently and because life is so short I decided to risk it and show the world my music.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

My inspirations Have been really important to my identity as an artist, I really appreciate the work of other singer-songwriters such as Tate McRae, Maisie Peters, and Tori Kelly.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

I started writing “I’m still breathing” when I first moved to London to go to school. I was really homesick and I really struggled to have to grow up so quickly. It was really difficult for me to make new friends During my first year of university, so I wrote “I’m still breathing”, this track was my motivation for a long time and I just can’t believe it’s finally out.

How can fans find you?

I’m quite active on Instagram (@beatrizkicksmusic), but you can also find Me on YouTube and SoundCloud (Be Kicks).
