Mighel Akando Interview with Muzique Magazine

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I discovered my deep love and passion for creating music when I was around 7-8 years old. I was always freestyling songs with my nephew but never took it seriously, until after my father passed away, who also had a love for music. Then I came to realize the significance and impact that music can have on one’s emotional, physical, and spiritual body. Music became an escape for me, a sanctuary if you will.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

I actually was born with a speech disability, it was so difficult to understand me I was in speech class from kindergarten till I became a freshman in high school. Even got government disability checks for it. Outside of my family, most people couldn’t understand me. I struggled to pronounce the sounds of Ch’s, R’s, Z’s, and more.

So I also used to get made fun of in school. It took me years of therapy to learn how to speak correctly so when I hear myself on a track sounding coherent and audible not to mention amazing it’s almost breathtaking to see just how far I’ve come. From not being able to pronounce simple English words to creating music is a hell of a leap. At least I like to think so.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

Yes, I am, I’m unlike any other Artist. But I understand that a statement like that lacks power until the music speaks for itself. So even though I feel like I haven’t even started to fully show the world what I can truly do. I feel like I’ve given the world a tease of my full power. I have lots of songs and concepts just waiting in the vault and I’m excited to show the world what I’m capable of.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

To my future self 5 years from now. What’s Up bruh? I bet you’ve come a long way, I have no doubt in my mind you’ve been trying your best to give it your all. Your music is unique and your message is Authentic and frankly a breath of fresh air. Don’t ever stop using your talents to touch the hearts of others. Your presence is appreciated.

How can fans find you?

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

Make music for yourself, make the type of music that you enjoy hearing playing on the radio. Use your talents to change the world. Music is just that powerful.
