Interview with Up and Coming Artist Tommy Positivity

How did you come by your stage name?

Tommy Positivity is in regard to spreading the positive message of Christ and hope but also the Positivity and certainty of the disciple Thomas who believed after he touched Christ’s wounds. No more doubting Thomas.

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

I’ve been into synthesizers and producing music since I was a little kid. I pursued it professionally off and on for many years but this new project “The Art of Humility” is based on recent spiritual epiphanies and the polarization of our world! The first 2 singles off the album sum up a lot of what TPD is about.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

Well, my sound is all over from The Prodigy, Deadmau5, Tiesto, NIN (minus the message), Depeche Mode, Many many unheard-of artists. I love Christian artists like Skillet, NF, Lauren Daigle, Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, Tommy Positivity, Bob Ross.

On your upcoming project, how did you come up with the concept?

“The Art of Humility” is a collection of reworked songs from years past and new ideas that I wanted to communicate. Every note has a purpose every syllable has meaning. It a concept album regarding the light piercing the darkness.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

The greatest challenge is balancing realities and family life with my musical passions. It so hard to chase your dreams when no one buying your tracks. I have realized that once you find purpose in the music. The doors will start to fly open. If your hearts right the opportunities will find you.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

I’m an original composer in Digital Audio Workstations like Fruit Loops. That is where I shine sonically with experience and experimenting with different soundscapes. I am also great at promotion and marketing. I vocalize on the side a bit to get my point across. No one on the earth can spot my story like me.

What are your plans for the near future?

Plan and hope to finish Album in 2020, then start to heavily rehearse a great live experience, then once confident it’s good to start to seek out touring opportunity.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

Thank God, Jesus Christ, Danny G and my family and anyone who was not doubting or hating! Believing in my message is more important for you than me.

How can fans find you?

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?

Practice, persist, listen to people’s feedback, and promote, promote, promote. No one is going to pound the pavement harder than you. Don’t expect all these opportunities to come to you seek them hunt them like a fierce lion. Just be quiet I’m taking a nap!
